Mood boosting breakfast ingredients

Posted by Alex FitzGerald on

The foundation of a healthy mood is built with many components of our nutrition and lifestyle choices. Breakfast is an important component of this foundation because of the cascading effects it can have on other parts of your life. Incorporate these key breakfast ingredients to help boost your mood in the morning and give you momentum for all the choices to come.

Caffeine

Caffeine has been found to trigger the release of cognitive enhancers such as dopamine. DOPE. Brave's Mocha Chip Overnight Breakfast contains 50 mg of caffeine from organic dehydrated coffee.

Cacao

Cacao is rich in compounds shown to increase endorphins and improve mood and cognition. Mocha Chip combines both raw organic cacao powder and cacao nibs.

Maca root

Maca root powder has been linked to decreased depression and increased energy, endurance and libido. Sound like a 'superfood'? That's because it is. Enjoy one tsp of organic maca powder in Mocha Chip.

Omega-3 fatty acids

We've written at length about the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, which are linked to lower levels of depression, among other things. Organic chia seeds, hemp hearts, and walnuts are all excellent sources of omega-3s and, yes, they're also found in Mocha Chip.

Oats

Fiber helps to slow the digestion of carbs, which allows for better regulation of blood sugar and energy levels. Brave uses organic gluten-free oats in each Overnight Breakfast.
